A Message from our President

Attendance at the 4th Annual Meeting of NASCC is your opportunity to connect with colleagues, learn about novel methods for improving care in sickle cell disease (SCD), network with the top healthcare professionals in SCD in the US, and celebrate the remarkable achievements we have seen in SCD over the last several years. The last decade has brought rapid advances in the understanding and management of SCD. The key to ensuring all our patients benefit as rapidly as possible from this evolving scientific and clinical landscape is access to the very latest care & treatment. At the heart of improving health outcomes, is making sure everyone living with SCD has access to a sickle cell specialist. As NASCC, we want to provide you with tools and strategies to make this happen while also providing you the opportunity to network with a range of other professionals that will be invaluable in sharing best practices and driving innovation.

We will plan to have everyone arrive on/during July 20th and the meeting will begin July 21st, 2025. The last session will end by 2:00pm on July 25th. We will have shuttles arranged from the Burlington, Vt airport to the Stoweflake Mountain Resort. At this time, only members of NASCC-recognized SCD centers & speakers will be able to stay onsite at the Mountain Resort (due to limited capacity). If there is sufficient space, we will open the lodging up to everyone.

This will also be the first year that we will have designated pathways for participants including physicians, advance practice providers, social workers & care coordinators, nursing & infusion, neurocognition & psychology, and a (new) ‘how I treat adults with SCD’ pathway for the new SCD specialists joining our family.

Attendance remains free for NASCC-recognized SCD  member centers and associate member centers.

Sincerely,

Dr. Julie Kanter, President of NASCC
